Cody Gakpo would be willing to leave PSV Eindhoven and join Manchester United before the summer transfer window closes, according to Fabrizio Romano, but the 20-time English champions must act quickly and submit a bid in the next few days if they intend to make the transfer happen.
As things stand at the moment, United appear to be focused on Antony of Ajax as their preferred target when it comes to strengthening their wide attacking ranks. Their pursuit of the Brazil international, however, hasn’t been going too well with Ajax extremely reluctant to sell, even though the 22-year-old is believed to be doing his best to force a move away from Amsterdam.
Nonetheless, it seems Gakpo will only be considered if United’s interest in Antony ceases.
The 23-year-old Dutch international is a product of the academy at PSV. Since his promotion to the first team in 2019, he’s so far scored 45 goals and produced 37 assists in 145 matches in all competitions for the club.
