Lille coach Rudi Garcia was frustrated by his side’s performance in their 2-1 Ligue 1 loss at Lyon on Saturday.

Alexandre Lacazette and Lisandro Lopez gifted Lyon a 2-0 lead before Aurelien Chedjou pegged one back, but Lille were unable to restore parity in the second half.

“The assessment is simple. We were poor in the first half and it is a miracle that we were only a goal behind at half-time,” Garcia told reporters.

“But we might have taken at least a point had our finishing been better.”

“Having seen that game you would think we were the ones who had played 120 minutes during the week. We came off second-best in the challenge and couldn’t string enough passes together.”

“The first two goals showed that Lyon wanted it more than us. It was more the mental side of things than anything else that let us down.”

Lille sit third in the Ligue 1 table with 47 points from 27 games.
