Gerrard wants Woodburn at Rangers

Glasgow Rangers manager and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is keen to bring the Reds’ youngster Ben Woodburn to his new club on loan, according to the Express.

Having made nine appearances for Liverpool’s first team in 2016/17, the 18-year-old was expected to make a bigger impact in 2017/18 but he walked out onto the pitch only once in this campaign. With lack of playing time threatening to hamper his enormous talents being developed, sending the club’s youngest goalscorer ever out on loan may be the best option for manager Jürgen Klopp.

On the other hand, Gerrard, given his strong bonds with the Merseyside club, would certainly take good care of him.

Woodburn also played seven games and scored once for Wales.

Rangers have been linked for a while with a loan move for another young Liverpool attacker, Dominic Solanke, but the Express claim that the Scottish club have other priorities in that position.
