Looking to capitalize on Celta Vigo’s issues heading into November, Getafe will make the trip to the Abanca-Balaídos on Sunday evening.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another worrying display and suffering a 2-1 defeat away at fellow strugglers Real Betis last weekend, the mood around the Abanca-Balaído remains at a worrying low. Only just managing to extend their La Liga status over the summer, Fran Escribá’s men have now lost their last three matches on the spin and have once again dropped into the bottom-three. On a run of form that has seen them record just a single domestic victory since the 24th of August, they also hold a worrying record against Sunday’s guests. Suffering a 3-1 hammering in the last meeting between the two sides, Celta have also not claimed a victory over Getafe since February 2016.

As for the visitors, making a return to winning ways and picking up a very impressive victory over La Liga high-flyers Granada last weekend, Getafe have their sights set on marching on another shock European charge this season. Also enjoying a bright run in the Europa League, José Bordalás’s men have won three of their last four La Liga appearances, including a 2-1 win away at a resurgent Real Sociedad last month. With the mood in their camp remaining at a high and handed the chance to close the gap on the top-four, do not be surprised to see Getafe leave the Abanca-Balaídos with all three points this weekend.
