The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has again deferred the final decision on the future of national team coach Goran Stevanovic.
Reports were rife in the local media that the Serbian will receive the marching orders ahead of a meeting of the GFA executive committee members on Thursday.
However, the GFA issued a statement on its official website on Thursday saying: “The GFA will meet with Stevanovic next week and the final decision will be announced subsequently.”
Stevanovic led the Ghana to a fourth-place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea earlier this year.
Local fans were critical of the Serbian after he failed to deliver their first continental title in 30 years as promised.
Stevanovic has one more year left in his contract and it is being reported that Ghana will have to part with about 670,000 euros in compensation to the former Partizan coach if they decide to sack him.
