Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has revealed there is no movement on the status of striker Mario Gomez.

The Germany international is reported to be the subject of transfer negotiations between the Bundesliga champions and Serie A side Fiorentina.

But Guardiola said the player would continue to be a part of the first-team squad while his playing situation is being decided.

“We have 33 players in the squad, my first intention is to involve everyone, apart from the injured ones, I’d like to know them better.” he said.

“As for Gomez, at the moment he is a Bayern player, he’s a professional and he trains with us.”

Sporting director Matthias Sammer added: “If something changes we will inform you, but now he’s a Bayern player.”

Meanwhile, Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade confirmed no deal has been reached with the UEFA Champions League winners but the side are interested in concluding a deal.

“Gomez is a player that interests us, but in this moment there aren’t any agreements to close the negotiation,” Prade said.

“He will cost a lot and we must adhere to the economic parameters we have set ourselves.

“Our relationship with Bayern Munich is solid though. The player is interested, it’s just the deal is not finalised.”
