With the opportunity to extend their advantage at the top of the Spanish Segunda division, Granada will travel to face a struggling Tenerife side on Friday evening.

Starting with the hosts, while many were disappointed by Tenerife’s midtable finish last season, things have not got any easier for José Luis Oltra. Watching his side pick up a 1-1 draw against Las Palmas last week, the former Levante midfielder has now seen his side pick up just one Segunda victory since the 27th of October. Now sat just one-point above the drop zone and now currently at the heart of a relegation battle entering the Christmas break, they also hold a woeful record against Granada. The hosts have failed to win a matchup against Granada in the club’s history.

As for the visitors, in stark contrast to Tenerife, things could not be going any better for Granada. Coming off the back of a 1-0 win over Real Oviedo last time out, Diego Martínez’s side have now won their last three matches on the bounce and more impressive, they’re yet to concede a single goal in December. Already holding a two-point advantage over Deportivo at the top of the Segunda table, Granada are now unbeaten in their last four matches away from the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes. Also scoring two goals in each of their previous four matches against Tenerife, we’re backing another victory for the visitors on Friday.
