Colombia have been dealt another blow with news midfielder Fredy Guarin will miss Tuesday’s World Cup qualifier against Argentina.

The Porto man picked up a knee injury in the 1-1 draw against Venezuela on Friday, a game where he opened the scoring in the 11th minute before being stretchered off.

“Fredy cannot play against Argentina. We’ll see who will take his place in the side,” Colombia coach Leonel Alvarez told Ole.

Guarin’s absence will come as a big loss for the national side, who will be missing Radamel Falcao and Carlos Sanchez who are both injured.

Alvarez will also be without the experienced Luis Perea, who is suspended for the visit of Argentina as Colombia look to add to their four points in qualifying.
