Hamilton 7/2 to beat St Johnstone in Wednesdays Scottish Premiership showdown

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Hamilton to beat St Johnstone

Odds: 7/2 @ Bet365

With both Hamilton and St Johnstone locked in a battle to try and secure a late push into the top half of the Scottish Premiership table, Martin Canning’s Hamilton side will travel to McDiarmid Park.

For Tommy Wrights’ St Johnstone side, sadly for the Perth based side, the Saints have not been able to replicate their impressive fouth place finish last season. Now sat eight points adrift of breaking into the top half of the table come May, St Johnstone have minimal signs of mounting a late push. Scoring just 30 goals in 30 league games, the Saints boast the third worst attacking statistics Scotland’s top-tier. As for Wrights’ sides recent form, they now have just two league wins in their last 12 attempts, St Johnstone have also won just one of their last six home matches.

As for Martin Canning’s Hamilton side, after only missing out on the drop zone by a single place and a single point last season, The Accies have enjoyed a more respectable campaign this time out. While they may be sat ninth in the Scottish Premiership table, Hamilton have scored 50 goals this term, the fourth highest for any side in Scotland’s top-tier. Also with a two-game advantage over the other teams in the bottom half of the table, a late push could be on the cards for Canning’s side. Now unbeaten in their last three outings, a victory on Wednesday will move them just a single point adrift of the hosts.
