Bosnia striker Edin Dzeko is relative unknown in England at the moment, but the Wolfsburg star is set to spark a summer transfer scramble.
The 23-year-old striker is one of the most in-form marskman in Europe and he has all the attributes to carve out a successful career in the Premier League.
At 1.9m he has got the physical presence required to be a hit in the top flight, plus pace combined with terrific technique with both feet which will make it difficult for Wolfsburg to hang on to him.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Portsmouth and Blackburn have all been alerted to his impressive displays in the Bundesliga which have seen him net 23 goals in 52 matches.
Dzeko is one of the brightest prospects ever to emerge from Bosnian football and his German club will demand a fee in excess of £10million for his services.
He came to prominence to scouts in Eastern Europe at Teplice where he became the top scorer and player of the season in 2006/2007. His excellent performances earned Dzeko a move to Wolfsburg in the summer of 2007 for a transfer fee of 4million euros.
Under coach Felix Magath, Dzeko continued improving, and finished last season with a tally of eight goals and seven assists.
He has matured again this term for his club side, while he has also turned in several impressive displays for Bosnia in World Cup qualifiers.
Dzeko scored in a defeat against Turkey and blasted three goals in two games in the recent double-header against Belgium to take his tally to 12 goals in 17 international appearances.
He’s sure to be in demand in the close season and if he does get a move to the Premier League he’s one to keep an eye on.
