Mats Hummels has pledged his future to Borussia Dortmund amid speculation that he may leave the club at the end of the season.
The German central defender has no plans to leave the Westfalenstadion despite missing out on the Bundesliga title this season to Bayern Munich.
Dortmund meet Bayern in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley on Saturday and Hummels is hoping to record their first victory over their rivals this season.
Hummels’ performances for Dortmund in the league and UEFA Champions League this season have seen him ranked as one of the top defenders in Europe, and linked with a move away from the club with Barcelona just one possible destination.
“There was never any contact. Neither with Barcelona nor with any other team,” he told Kicker magazine.
“I don’t really see it as my job to deny the rumours that other people make up.
“If at some point there’s something to these things, then I will say so. And when I now say that these speculations are baseless, that should be enough.”
Team-mate Mario Goetze will be leaving Dortmund at the end of the season to join Bayern, but he has reassured fans he is fully focused on beating his future employees at Wembley to end his time at the club on a high.
“A win in the final for my last game with (Borussia Dortmund) would be the greatest,” he said.
“I absolutely want to be a part of it in London, I will give my all for Borussia and want to help the team so that we can lift the trophy.”
