Lens head coach Pierre Sage admitted he is already thinking about the Coupe de France final after their last-four victory over Toulouse on Tuesday.
Florian Thauvin starred for Lens in their 4-1 semi-final win at home, scoring a penalty and providing an assist for Allan Saint-Maximin, while also playing crucial roles in goals scored by Adrien Thomasson and Saud Abdulhamid.
Lens will feature in the Coupe de France final for the first time since 1998, and will face either Strasbourg or Nice in the showpiece.
The French side are enjoying a brilliant campaign, with a Ligue 1 title still to fight for alongside the Coupe de France, which they have never won.
Lens have now won 24 matches across all competitions this term, having recorded more successes in a single campaign only once in the 21st century (27 in 2022-23).
Sage, however, believes their season will only hold value if they finish with silverware next month.
“The only feeling I have is that I want to win the final. That’s the only one,” said Sage in a delayed interview after Lens stormed onto the pitch in celebration.
