Though Newcastle forward Anthony Gordon has been linked with a number of top clubs in the last few months, only Bayern Munich have reportedly taken concrete steps towards signing him this summer by contacting the player’s camp to see if he’s willing to move to the Allianz Arena.
Now, the latest report from The Times on that front claims Newcastle are aware of the interest and are willing to sanction a sale to the Bundesliga champions, but only if their valuation of £75million for Gordon’s services is met.
No club-to-club talks have taken place as of yet, but the Magpies would not accept an offer of £55million, which is how much Bayern initially estimated the value of the 25-year-old. The negotiations are, however, expected to start soon, with Gordon apparently open to the idea of leaving the Premier League to join the Bavarians.
Bayern have enjoyed great success with their recent recruitment from the English top flight, with Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Luis Diaz all proving worth the investment.
