AC Milan’s Giampaolo Pazzini was humbled by comparisons to club legend Filippo Inzaghi, after their 3-1 win over Bologna on Saturday.
The Italy international’s three goals helped Milan to their first league win after defeat to Sampdoria in their last outing, and there was much praise for the role the striker played.
The stellar performance led chief executive Adriano Galliani to speak positively of the club’s new signing, even going as far as admitting ‘it was like watching a new Inzaghi’, which drew Pazzini’s blushes.
“I’m really happy, it was a great evening. I really want to do (well)”, the forward told Tuttomercatoweb.
“Galliani compared me to Inzaghi? It’s an honour to be compared to Pippo. I hope that I can do half of what he has done.”
Massimiliano Allegri’s side encounter Atalanta after the international break on September 16, before they get their Champions League group stage campaign underway against Anderlecht.
