Leaders Gamba Osaka and Kashiwa Reysol kept their push for the J.League title going strong on Sunday, but Nagoya Grampus suffered a slip-up.

Reysol moved to the top of the J.League for a brief time on Sunday, with their 1-0 away win over Kashima Antlers coming courtesy of a goal from Masato Kudo on the half-hour mark.

But they did not stay there for long, as Gamba posted a 1-0 win of their own later in the day, with a goal from South Korean striker Lee Keun-Ho handing them victory at home against the struggling Urawa Reds.

Reysol’s is the story of the J.League season so far, with last season’s J2-League champions just one point adrift of Gamba heading into the final six games of the season.

Nagoya Grampus failed to hold onto second place, however, when they suffered a 2-0 loss at Shimizu S-Pulse – second-half goals from Genki Omae and Australian Alex Brosque getting the home side over the line.

In Sunday’s other match, Vegalta Sendai posted a 2-1 home win over Cerezo Osaka.

Kodai Watanabe and Noaki Sugai scored to give Vegalta a 2-0 lead at the break, while Rui Komatsu claimed a late penalty for the visitors from the penalty spot.
