Anderlecht coach Ariel Jacobs is expecting a stern test from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar when they meet in the Europa League on Thursday.

Jacobs, 58, feels his side cannot afford to underestimate the Eredivisie side who have a team more than capable of defeating the Belgians.

“When you’re drawn from the same pot as the Manchester teams, and you’re eventually paired with a team like AZ, everybody expects a walkover,” Jacobs told the club’s official website.

“But it is not so easy. If you follow Dutch football, you will know that AZ are a good team and that they are top of the Eredivisie.”

“Their team is as good as ours. No, AZ are a more than formidable opponent.”
