According to the website Goal.com, Juventus are lining up a loan bid for Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in order to bolster their defensive options for next season.

Many fans, even some Chelsea supporters, may think Branislav who? Ivanovic was signed in January for £10 million from Lokomotiv Moscow, breaking the Russian transfer record.

However, since arriving at Stamford Bridge Ivanovic has yet to appear in the Chelsea first-team with the London club.

Chelsea claim that Ivanovic’s fitness was not up to the standard, despite the 24-year-old representing Serbia on a number of occasions and having no injuries since he signed for Chelsea.

Now Juventus hope to loan the star who is likely to behind the likes of John Terry, Ricardo Carvalho, Alex and others in the Chelsea first-team squad. Juventus are looking to secure one more centre-back to compete with the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Nicola Legrottaglie.
