Juventus to target Koopmeiners?

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus will make a move for Atalanta midfielder Teun Koopmeiners at the end of the season, having already received an early encouragement from the player himself.

The 25-year-old was a target for Napoli last summer, but the reigning Serie A champions had their advances turned down, and Koopmeiners recently signed a new contract which makes him a La Dea player until the summer of 2027. The club have an option to extend that deal by a further year.

But even though Atalanta do not need to sell any of their prized assets, Koopmeiners is apparently keen on taking the next step in his career, and Juventus, though facing strong competition from the Premier League, are put in a very strong position by the player’s desire to remain in Italy, rather than move to another country.

Playing primarily as a defensive midfielder, Koopmeiners has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Atalanta this season, scoring nine goals and producing four assists.
