Chelsea midfielder Gael Kakuta has revealed that he doesn’t plan to return to Stamford Bridge once his loan deal at Vitesse ends.
The French midfielder has struggled to get some playing time at Chelsea ever since he joined the club in 2007, even if he has been impressing at loan spells at Fulham, Dijon and Vitesse.
Kakuta used to hope that his loan stints would help him play his way into the first team plans at Stamford Bridge, but it appears he has given up all hope.
The 21-year-old has made it clear that he would prefer to remain at Vitesse even after his loan spell finishes.
“I don’t dream about Chelsea anymore – I used to, now I know better,” Kakuta explained to Voetbal International.
“I hope I can join a club like Vitesse next season, where I can play every week.”
The Frenchman joined Chelsea from Lens in 2007, but has since made just 6 Premier League appearances for the Blues.
Kakuta has been in fine form this season, scoring 1 goal and producing 3 assists in 16 Eredivisie appearances for Vitesse.
