Keane targets Man Utd striker

Roy Keane plans to add another striker to his squad ahead of next season after Kenwyne Jones has been sidelined by a knee injury he suffered in Trinidad & Tobago’s friendly game with England last month.

According to The Daily Mail he has set his sights on Manchester United’s Louis Saha. The French striker has not had the happiest of times during his spell at Old Trafford as he was hampered by injuries. Now, reports in the English press say that Sir Alex Ferguson has finally ran out of patience has decided it is time for Saha to go.

One potential stumbling block in Keane’s quest to land the Frenchman could be the player’s wages. According to The Daily Mail, Saha earns about £70,000 per week at Old Trafford and Sunderland cannot afford that. However Keane believes that Saha would be good value for money should he accept a pay cut.

Fulham and AS Roma were also rumoured to be interested in the injury-plagued striker, but both clubs pulled out of the deal.
