Kenny joins Ipswich on short-term deal

Championship promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town have signed veteran goalkeeper Paddy Kenny on a short term contract, according to Sky Sports.

The 36 year old moved to Bolton Wanderers in the summer, but has left the club without playing a single minute for them.

He moved to Oldham Athletic on loan from the Trotters in November, making three appearances though having kept a clean sheet on his debut, he conceded eleven goals in the subsequent two matches.

Kenny began his league career at Bury under Neil Warnock, and has gone on to play for him at Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers and Leeds United, while he has seven caps for the Republic of Ireland.

Ipswich beat Millwall 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to remain within a point of leaders Bournemouth, and they can now be backed at a price of 15/8 to win promotion back to the Premier League after thirteen years in the second tier.
