Ki Sung-Yueng contract talks stall at Swansea

Long-serving midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng has reportedly set aside contract negotiations in order to focus solely on keeping Swansea in the Premier League for next season, according to the Independent.

The South Korean international has made 123 appearances in the English top flight for the Swans, and is currently in his sixth season with the club. In that time he has become a hugely important member of their midfield, and will be channelling his talent towards ensuring their survival.

Reports are unclear as to whether the midfielder will be looking for a move come the end of the season, or whether that decision will depend on Swansea’s league position on the final day. His side currently sit second from bottom after 16 games, one point from safety.

With so many teams struggling around the bottom of the table, Swansea certainly have a decent chance at staying up, but it remains to be seen what Ki’s fate will be come the end of this campaign.
