Dutch side PSV Eindhoven will have to do without Jan Kromkamp for up to three months as the player needs surgery on his left knee.

Specialists in the Netherlands and Belgium decided to perform the surgery, which means that the former Liverpool player is unlikely to feature before 2010.

Kromkamp hasn’t played since PSV’s Europa League win (0-1) at Bnei Yehuda on August 20, and only represented the Eindhoven outfit four times this season.

The 29-year-old returned to PSV in 2006 after stints at Villarreal and Liverpool.
