Lazio quash Zarate exit talks

(GSM) – Lazio’s sporting director Igli Tare has rejected the rumors linking striker Mauro Zarate with a move to Arsenal. The Gunners were believed to be in contact with Zarate’s agent

According to reports, Arsenal may be willing to offer up to £35million to snatch Zarate away from Italy.

The Argentine forward has experience in English football. He impressed on loan for Birmingham in 2008.

However, Tare has played down the rumors, saying that Lazio count on great champions such as Zarate.

“It’s only rumours, there is no truth,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

“Lazio count on Zarate, who is a great champion.”

Zarate spent last season on loan at Lazio, netting 13 goals in 36 appearances in the Serie A. After impressing while on loan at the club, Lazio decided to make his move permanent last summer.
