Competition: Ligue 2 play-off

Market: Le Mans win

Odds: 13/10 @ Bet 365

Looking to gain an early advantage in their play-off first leg, Le Mans will welcome Gazélec Ajaccio to the Stade de La Pincenardière on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Le Mans once again impressed in their 2-1 win over an already promoted Chambly last week, they finished their campaign just three points adrift of securing an automatic route back to Ligue 2. Despite just missing out on a top-two finish, Head Coach Richard Déziré will be most impressed by his sides’ performances at the back end of the season. Now enjoying a five-match winning run and really starting to shine in the final third, fans around the Mulsanne will also be impressed by their recent showings at the Stade de La Pincenardière. Le Mans have won each of their last three matches on home soil, they also scored two goals in each of those victories.

As for the visitors, ending their season with another lackluster display in their 1-0 loss away at Paris last week, it has been a really sluggish end to the year for Hervé Della Maggiore’s men. Now failing to win any of their last seven appearances, a run that stems back to the start of April, a huge part of their issues at the end of the year has come down to their struggles away from the Stade Ange Casanova. Ajaccio have failed to win any of their last nine matches on the road and have picked up just a single away victory in 2019. Given the visitors continued struggles on the road, we’re backing Le Mans to pick up an early advantage on Tuesday night.
