Leeds eyeing Blackstock move

Leeds United look set to complete the loan signing of Dexter Blackstock from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, TalkSport understands.

The striker, who moved to the City Ground permanently from Queens Park Rangers in July 2009 having impressed in a loan spell towards the end of the 08/09 campaign, has fallen out of favour under Billy Davies this season.

The 27 year old has played just 70 minutes of league football for the Reds, and hasn’t scored since the 4-2 victory over Leeds on Boxing Day.

Brighton and Hove Albion have also been linked with the Antigua and Barbados international, but it is Brain McDermott’s men who are leading the race to secure his services.

Leeds moved up to ninth place following their emphatic 4-0 win over Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon, and can now be backed at a price of 9/1 to secure a long awaited return to the Premier League.
