Leicester to bid for Algeria hotshot

Premier League newcomers Leicester City are readying bid for Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani, according to O Jogo.

The Algeria star has caught the eye of quite a few Premiership sides with some excellent displays at the 2014 World Cup, but it appears the Foxes have moved to the front of the queue.

O Jogo has suggested that Leicester are ready to submit an official offer for Slimani worth around €8 million.

Sporting are believed to be holding out for €12 million, but chances are they will consider any serious proposal, and this one certainly falls into that category.

Slimani joined the Lions last summer from Belouizdad and he went on to score 8 goals in 26 league matches despite only starting 10 of those fixtures.

He then went on to impress playing for Algeria at the 2014 World Cup, scoring 2 goals in 4 matches as Les Fennecs reached the Last 16 stage.
