Two sides who are looking to book their spot in the fourth round of this year’s EFL Cup, Leicester will travel to Championship outfit Luton on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, while Luton may have entered September with some much-needed momentum, the Hatters have come crashing back down to earth. Putting in another worrying display and suffering a 3-0 hammering at home to Hull City on Saturday, Graeme Jones’ men have now suffered back-to-back defeats, including shipping another trio of goals against QPR last week. With many around Kenilworth Road fearing their side could be at the heart of a relegation scrap after marking their Championship return over the summer, it is also worth noting that Luton have won just one of their previous four Championship matches on home soil.

As for the visitors, coming from behind to pick up a very eye-catching 2-1 win over Tottenham on Saturday lunchtime, Leciester have continued on what has been a very bright start to the new Premier League campaign. Losing just one of their opening six top-flight appearances and dreaming of securing a European finish come May, the mood in Brendan Rodgers’ camp remains at a high. With the Foxes’ youthful resurge really starting to click in the final third, there is no doubt that Tuesday’s guests should be looking to mount a late cup run this season. Given the gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing the Premier League outfit to come out on top in midweek.
