Paris Saint-Germain’s Leonardo says the club have made no attempt to sign Real Madrid midfielder Kaka in the January transfer window.

PSG have been continually linked with a move for the Brazil international, but the club’s sporting director Leonardo has stressed there have been no overtures from the Ligue 1 leaders.

“There is nothing in the rumours linking us with Kaka,” Leonardo was quoted as saying by L’Equipe.

“I have a very good relationship with him, however, I have never asked him to move to Paris Saint-Germain.”

Leonardo then revealed attacking midfielder Kaka had the chance to move to Paris at an earlier stage in his career.

“I have known Kaka for 11 years, and when he joined Milan he could have been loaned to PSG.”

The 29-year-old Brazilian has a contract with Real until June 2015.
