The Detroit Lions remain unbeaten in their NFL campaign, producing a stirring comeback to beat the Dallas Cowboys 34-30 on Sunday.

Trailing by 24 points midway through the third quarter, Jim Schwartz’s men fought back with two interception touchdowns from Bobby Carpenter and Chris Houston off the arm of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

A pair of touchdowns to receiver Calvin Johnson in the final quarter – the second of which put the Lions ahead in the dying stages – guided Detroit to a memorable victory.

Amazingly, Detroit are not top of their four-team division, with fellow unbeaten side Green Bay Packers leading the way in NFC North after their 49-23 victory over the Denver Broncos.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed 29 of 38 passes for 408 yards with four touchdown passes in a comprehensive win for the reigning Super Bowl champions.

Kansas City accounted for the Minnesota Vikings 22-17, earning their first victory of the season, while condemning the Vikings to their fourth loss in as many games.

The Chicago Bears improved to a 2-2 win-loss record, holding on for a 34-29 victory over the Carolina Panthers in a result highlighted by Devin Hester’s 11th career return touchdown from a punt.

Mike Nugent’s 43-yard field goal in the dying stages clinched a 23-20 victory for the Cincinnati Bengals over Buffalo, inflicting the Bills’ first defeat of the season.

Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck threw for three touchdowns in his side’s 31-13 win over the Cleveland Browns.

Houston overcame the loss of receiver Andre Johnson to a hamstring injury to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 17-10.

Two first-half touchdowns from the New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees set up their 23-10 triumph over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

A fine individual effort from Philadelphia’s quarterback Michael Vick (416 yards thrown, two touchdown passes) was not enough in the Eagles’ 24-23 loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

A late fightback from St Louis could not earn them their first win, with the Washington Redskins claiming a 17-10 victory over the Rams.

Eli Manning produced two touchdown passes late to pull off a stunning 31-27 win for the New York Giants over the Arizona Cardinals.

The Atlanta Falcons held off the fast-finishing Seattle Seahawks 30-28, New England defeated Oakland 31-19 while San Diego kept Miami winless after their 26-16 victory.

The Baltimore Ravens posted a 34-17 win at home over the New York Jets.
