Liverpool eyeing Montoya move

Liverpool are considering a bid for Barcelona right back Martin Montoya, the Mirror understands.

The 22 year old is out of contract at the end of the season, and having made just one league appearance under new manager Gerardo Martino, is set for a future away from the Nou Camp.

The Reds already have a host of options at right-back, with Martin Kelly and Andre Wisdom competing with first choice Glen Johnson for a starting berth in Brendan Rodgers side.

Arsenal have also been linked with the Spaniard, who has been capped at U19, U21 and U23 levels while reports in Germany suggest that both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen are also interested.

Montoya has made 37 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona since turning professional in 2009, and been part of the side that won the league title in 2011 and 2013, and the Copa Del Rey in 2012.
