Liverpool keen on Roma keeper Alisson

It is little secret to anyone who has watched Premier League giants Liverpool play over the past two seasons that they are in dire need of a long-term reliable and talented goalkeeper.

Neither Simon Mignolet, or more recent signing Loris Karius, have been good enough, and the absence of a world class shot stopper is hampering the Reds’ ability to mount a proper title challenge.

Thankfully for fans, Jurgen Klopp appears to be in the market for a replacement in this January transfer window, and the man at the top of his list is Roma’s Alisson, according to the Metro.

The Brazilian has become the Giallorossi’s first-choice keeper this season, and has played every minute during this Serie A campaign. There is little doubt that Alisson has helped establish Roma as statistically the best defence in the Italian top flight, with just 12 goals conceded all season.

His addition to the Liverpool starting XI therefore, coupled with the arrival of central defender Virgil van Dijk, could help the Reds become a dominant force once again.
