Liverpool are interested in signing Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has claimed that the Premier League club are ready to pay the La Liga outfit a transfer fee of £35 million for the 27-year-old Netherlands international midfielder.
De Jong has been on the books of Barcelona since the summer of 2019 when he joined from PSV. The 27-year-old has made 235 appearances for the Spanish club since then, scoring 19 goals and providing 22 assists in the process. The midfielder has won La Liga and the Copa del Rey once each and the Supercopa de Espana twice with the Blaugrabna.
Liverpool are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 56 points from 23 matches, six points clear of second-placed Arsenal, who have played 24 games. Meanwhile, Barcelona currently find themselves third in the La Liga table with 45 points from 22 games, five points behind leaders and defending champions Real Madrid.
