Liverpool reject second Mane bid from Bayern

Liverpool have rejected a second bid from Bayern Munich for the services of Sadio Mane, according to Paul Joyce of The Times. Apparently, the offer consisted of a total of £30 million which included bonuses such as for multiple Champions League wins and the Ballon d’Or award. Liverpool value the 30-year-old forward at £42m, and they’re not very likely to accept such unrealistic add-ons in a deal.

Mane has a year left on his contract and apart from a few rumours some months back, there had been no sign of a new one being signed before his decision to ask to leave the club this summer became known. Liverpool are obviously risking the possibility of losing his services for free next summer, but they seem determined not to give one of their best players away cheaply.

The message for the Bavarians coming from Merseyside appears clear – don’t come back unless you’re willing to pay what we ask.
