Llorente keen on Arsenal switch

Fernando Llorente is keen on securing a move to Arsenal when the transfer window reopens in January, the Metro understands.

The Spain international, who scored for the Old Lady in last night’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, is keen to gain more first team action having started just three games in Serie A this season.

The 28 year old moved to Turin in the summer after spending nine years with Athletic Bilbao, where he scored 118 goals in 333 appearances whilst internationally he has seven goals in twenty-two senior outings.

The Gunners are intent on bolstering their striking options with Olivier Giroud and Nicklas Bendtner their only fit forwards at this time.

Lukas Podolski and the yet unproven Yaya Sanogo are set to return from injury in the next few weeks, and manager Arsene Wenger’s other targets Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowsi potentially out of reach.
