Potentially on course to set a record-breaking MLS campaign this season, LAFC will make the trip to an inconsistent LA Galaxy in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of yet another very worrying display in their 3-1 hammering at home to Real Salt lake last weekend, LA Galaxy have seen their title dreams quickly begin to crumble. Now sat 12 points adrift of LAFC in the race to clinch the Western Conference, it will undoubtedly be their continued issues in California giving Head Coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto the biggest headache. Including their woeful display against the Earthquakes last time out, the Whites have lost four of their last five matches in front of their own supporters, a run that stems back to the end of April.

As for the visitors, while their US Open Cup dreams may have come to an abrupt end earlier in the month, former USA Coach Bob Bradley has seen his side continue to shine. Coming off the back of a 3-1 win away at Houston last time out, the Whites now hold a 12-point buffer at the top of the West and have remarkably tasted defeat just twice all season. One man to watch for Saturday’s guests will be the red-hot Carlos Vela. Taking the MLS by storm in his debut season, the former Arsenal striker has bagged three goals in his last two appearances and also now sits four goals clear in the race for the Golden Boot.
