Looking to put their US Open Cup heartbreak behind them, LAFC will make the trip to Texas in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Starting with the hosts, after shipping three away at rock-bottom FC Cincinnati last weekend, Houston find themselves in the midst of a real struggle. Now on the verge of slipping out of the play-off positions, Head Coach Wílmer Cabrera has seen his side lose five of their last six matchups, a run that stems back to the 12th of June. Also now failing to record a single clean sheet since the end of April, fans around the BBVA Stadium will also be concerned by Houston’s last showing against their guests on Saturday. When the two sides met back in November, the Dynamo’s slumped to a 4-2 defeat.

As for the visitors, while Bob Bradley’s LAFC outfit may have come crashing out of the US Open Cup at the hands of Portland earlier in the week, Los Angeles are undeniably the team to beat in America’s top-tier. Led by leading goalscorer and former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela who has already bagged nine goals in his last eight appearances, the Whites now hold a very commanding nine-point buffer at the top of the Western Conference. Also now winning four of their last five matches outside of California, including a thumping 5-1 victory over Sporting KC last weekend, we’re backing LAFC to return to winning way this weekend.
