With the chance to extend their buffer at the top of the Western Conference, LAFC will travel to BC Place Stadium in Vancouver in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of a 1-1 draw away at Chicago last weekend, many around British Columbia are becoming more concerned by Vancouver’s start to the season. With the Whitecaps still looking for their first victory of the new MLS campaign, Marc Dos Santos’ side have managed to pick up just two points out of a possible 18. Holding the worst attacking record in the Western Conference and scoring just one goal in 300 minutes of action, the Whitecaps also hold a woeful record against LAFC. Thursday’s hosts have lost all three of their previous encounters against the Whites.

As for the visitors, putting in yet another very eye-catching display in their 2-0 win over Cincinnati last time out, the mood in Los Angeles’ camp will certainly be on a high. With former USA coach Bob Bradley now watching his side enjoy a four-match winning run a huge part of LAFC’s rise to the top of the Western Conference has come thanks to their form in the final third. Scoring an astonishing 21 goals and averaging over three goals per game, one man to watch on Thursday will be the MLS’ leading goalscorer Carlos Vela. The Mexcian international has bagged eight goals in just his opening six games this season.
