Romelu Lukaku has been moving back and forth between Chelsea and Inter Milan in recent years. He spent last season at Inter on loan from Chelsea, scoring 14 goals and contributing seven assists in 37 appearances in all competitions.

The Belgian striker played an important role as the Nerazzurri, under the command of Simone Inzaghi, reached the Champions League final and finished third in the Serie A.

His loan has now expired and he is due back at Stamford Bridge, but he’s reportedly willing to accept a significant wage reduction if that helps him get a permanent transfer to Inter.

With head coach Ange Postecoglou keen to strengthen his defensive ranks, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly weighing up two options one against the other. One of those options is Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen, and the other is Micky van de Ven of Wolfsburg.

No offer has been made for either centre-back as of yet, and Spurs’ decision is likely to be made when they get a clearer picture on how much the two Bundesliga clubs would demand for their respective players.

Staying with Spurs and Postecoglou, the former Celtic boss is keen to persuade Harry Kane to stay at the club past this summer. To that end, he intends to present his “vision of success” at the club, aiming to make the England captain believe trophies can be won right there, with no need to move anywhere else.

Kane has been strongly linked with Bayern Munich, who have reportedly had two offers for his services rejected by the North Londoners.

Man United and Inter hold “positive” Onana talks

According to multiple sources, Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The talks between the two clubs, both three-time Champions League winners, have been described as positive.

United are in need of a new No. 1, following the announcement of David De Gea’s decision not to sign a new contract but to leave Old Trafford as a free agent. Onana, who kept 19 clean sheets in 41 appearances for the Nerazzurri in 2022/23, is obviously their first-choice option.

But as reported by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth, there is still a gap between Inter’s asking price of €60 million, on which they refuse to budge, and what United have offered to pay.

Onana’s move to Old Trafford is an idea put out by United boss Erik ten Hag, who worked with the Cameroonian shot-stopper previously at Ajax.

Ashley Young to join Everton

Following the expiration of his contract with Aston Villa, Ashley Young is set to join Everton, according to numerous sources.

The versatile veteran has accepted an offer of a short-term contract from the Toffees. His vast experience in the Premier League is expected to help Sean Dyche’s team deliver a better season than 2022/23, when they were involved in a late relegation scramble and managed to narrowly avoid the drop.

The official confirmation should come as soon as the 38-year-old former England international completes his medical, which has been scheduled to take place within 24 hours.
