With the chance to extend their buffer at the top of the table, Luton will make the trip to relegation contenders Accrington Stanley on Saturday evening.

Starting with the hosts, picking up a 2-1 win over Walsall last weekend, Accrington Stanley will know that they must build on that result if they’re to secure another season in League One. Holding just a four-point buffer over falling back into the drop zone, a huge part of Stanley’s struggles this year have come down to their continued problems at the Wham Stadium. On a run of form that has seen them pick up just a single victory since the start of March, John Coleman’s side have lost five of their last six matches in Lancashire and have also picked up just two home wins since Boxing Day.

As for the visitors, while Luton’s 3-1 loss away at Charlton may have seen their remarkable 28-match unbeaten run come to an end, the Hatters have comfortably cemented their spot as the top side in League One. Holding a five-point buffer at the top of the table and within touching distance of being crowned as champions, Mick Harford’s side will also be boosted by their last meeting against Stanley. Putting four past Saturday’s hosts when they met back in November, it is also worth noting that the Hatters have lost just one match on the road since the start of October. Given the gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing an away victory this weekend.
