Competition: League One
Market: Luton Town win
Odds: 4/6 @ Bet 365
In pole position to book a return to the Championship this season, high flyers Luton will host playoff outsides Coventry at Kenilworth Road Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, after coming up from League Two last season, few would have expected Luton’s emphatic rise this year. Now holding a seven-point buffer at the top of the table, the Hatters have won their last six matches on the bounce and are yet to taste defeat since the middle of November. One man who has really spearheading Mick Harford’s charge for back-to-back promotions is leading goalscorer James Collins. Now bagging 19 goals already this season, the 28-year-old has now scored eight goals in just his last six League One appearances.
As for the visitors, while Coventry might be sat seven points adrift of the playoff positions and dreaming of a late push for the top six, the Sky Blues will know they must improve on their recent performances away from the Ricoh Arena. Although Mark Robins’ side did pick up a hard fought 1-0 win over relegation contenders Rochdale earlier in the month, Coventry have lost six of their last eight matches on the road. Slumping to a 2-1 loss the last time they faced off against Luton back in December, Sunday could prove to be another tough afternoon on their travels.
