Maduro agrees to Sevilla switch

Sevilla have announced that Hedwiges Maduro will complete a transfer from Valencia on Tuesday, subject to a medical.

The Netherlands international has agreed to ply his trade at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan until 2015 after agreeing terms La Liga club.

Maduro explained that he had been offered the opportunity to extend his stay at Mestalla but was ultimately persuaded to move to Sevilla by coach Michel.

“I am, of course, very happy with my new club,” the 27-year-old Dutchman told Voetbal International.

“I could have signed for another two years at Valencia, but my feelings told me that I should not do so. And (Michel) even came to Amsterdam especially for me. That says a lot.”

Maduro, who has been capped 18 times by his country, joined Valencia from Ajax in 2008 but featured only sporadically for the club last season.
