Man United eye Tammy Abraham

Manchester United are looking to add a striker to their ranks in the summer, and according to the Mirror, one of the new names on their list of potential candidates is AS Roma’s Tammy Abraham.

The 20-time English champions, however, face a difficulty with that transfer in the form of a buy-back clause which Chelsea included in the deal when they sold the 25-year-old to the Serie A side for a reported fee of €40million in 2021. On the other hand, for the clause to bear any significance, both Chelsea boss Graham Potter and Abraham himself would have to be in favour of the player’s return to Stamford Bridge.

Since his arrival to the Italian capital, Abraham has scored 34 goals and contributed 10 assists in 87 matches in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s side.

United signed Wout Weghorst on loan from Burnley in January, and though the Dutch target man has been mostly playing well, he is still seen as no more than a temporary solution at Old Trafford.
