Manchester City host Tottenham this afternoon, with the Londoners having nightmares about their past meetings against City last season that ended in two thrashings. Manuel Pellegrini’s side comfortably saw past Tottenham home and away en route to winning the Premier League title, and this season they are hoping to put pressure on early league leaders Chelsea.

A win for the Sky Blues will see them just two points behind Jose Mourinho’s side going into the later afternoon fixtures, which will be a big psychological boost. City know they cannot afford any more slip-ups, with Pellegrini’s men having dropped seven points in their last five games.

Tottenham have been in different on their travels. They earned a credible draw against Arsenal, but dropped points to Sunderland. They have, however, picked up four points from their last two league games, so Mauricio Pochettino’s side aren’t in bad form.
