Manchester City want to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen

Manchester City are interested in signing Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League last season, are looking at Wirtz as a potential replacement for Riyad Mahrez.

Football Transfers have reported that City manager Pep Guardiola personally wants Wirtz and is a big admirer of the winger’s technical ability and potential. The report has claimed that the Germany international is open to a move to City, and that Bundesliga club Bayer themselves are willing to sell him at the right price.

Wirtz made 11 starts and six substitute appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen last season. The 20-year-old attacking midfielder scored one goal and gave six assists in those games. The attacker also scored three goals and provided two assists in eight UEFA Europa League matches for Bayer last season.
