Manchester United ready to make David Luiz swoop

Jose Mourinho is the Marmite of the footballing world – some people love him, some people hate him – and it seems that Chelsea defender David Luiz can’t get enough of the Portuguese manager’s unique taste.

According to the Guardian the defender wants a reunion with his former boss at Manchester United, following a rather large disagreement with current coach Antonio Conte.

The cartoonish Brazilian has featured eight times in the Premier League this season, but was dropped for the Blues’ win over United two weekends ago.

This decision has clearly been enough to prompt the player to start talking about a move, and Luiz is reportedly frustrated that the club’s hierarchy have not supported him sufficiently.

The centre half has won the Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup with Chelsea, and he has been a hugely important figure during his six seasons at the club.

If Manchester United are indeed to snap him up they will likely need to at least match the £34m that the London club paid to bring the defender back from PSG.
