Manchester United set to bid €500m for Neymar

Many people thought the £198m price that French super club PSG paid for Brazilian sensation Neymar was ludicrous, and those people are likely to become somewhat incensed when they hear the news that, according to the Manchester Evening News, Premier League giants Manchester United are preparing a €500m bid.

The winger has established himself as the heir apparent to the crown currently shared by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as the world’s best player, and has already registered 11 goals and 9 assists in 14 Ligue 1 appearances for his new team PSG.

The €500m bid from Manchester United comes after the news that Real Madrid have reportedly offered Cristiano Ronaldo plus a cash sum to the French club in exchange for their star Brazilian. United currently sit second in the Premier League table, and look to have let their City rivals run away with the title this season.

The addition of Neymar would likely make the Red Devils the number one contenders for next year’s crown, and even this year’s if City slip up on the home stretch.
