Manchester United to offer Anderson in exchange for Porto hotshot

Manchester United are stepping up their interest in Porto forward James Rodriguez, Manchester Evening News reports.

The Red Devils have been following the highly rated Colombian from the very start to the season and they are now pondering a summer bid for his services.

According to Manchester Evening News, Porto want around £25 million for the 20-year-old, but United are hoping to lower the asking price.

The English publication suggests that Red Devils are ready to offer midfielder Anderson to Porto in a player plus cash deal for the Colombian.

The 24-year-old Brazilian has seen his career at Old Trafford plagued with numerous injuries and it appears Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to cash in on the attacking midfielder.

Anderson has missed a big part of the season through a knee injury and he has made just one substitute appearance since January.

Manchester United are also hoping to attract Borussia Dortmund star Shinji Kagawa to Old Trafford, as the Japanese appear to be unwilling to extend his contract with the German champions.
