Mancini: ´We suffered until the last second´

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini admitted his side had concentration issues after their 3-2 win over Bolton on Sunday.

The Italian said his side – who held a two-goal buffer on two separate occasions at the Reebok Stadium – should not have been within a goal of their opposition at the final whistle.

“I can’t believe we suffered until the last second. Also because Bolton is a good team – they always try to score – but we dominated the game. It’s incredible that the game has finished 3-2,” Mancini said.

“We can’t concede two goals like we did today. We need to pay more attention.”

“The first goal, the second goal, the same – we cannot continue to concede these goals. If we want to have a good season we should pay more attention to these situations.”

On his stars, Mancini said captain Carlos Tevez and new signing Sergio Aguero were underdone, while smooth moving midfielder David Silva and striker Edin Dzeko – who scored on Sunday – were flying.

“He (Aguero) played well. He played 70 minutes and he was so tired when he came off the pitch. This is normal. Also Carlos is not 100 per cent, (but) Dzeko played very well,” Mancini said.

“David (Silva) is a fantastic player. Because he’s short and thin, the start of the season is easier (for him).”

Mancini confirmed Samir Nasri’s impending transfer would be wrapped up in the coming days, with the Arsenal midfielder likely to join City’s squad to face Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

“I think we can close the deal in two days. I don’t know what has happened (that he hasn’t signed yet),” he said.

“It’s a big problem if he plays (in the Champions League for Arsenal). I don’t know if we would still sign him. I hope we can close in the next 48 hours. We have followed Nasri for 40 days.”

Bolton manager Owen Coyle said his side gave a fair account of themselves in the contest and thought they were a touch unlucky not to come away with a point for their efforts.

“It was a terrific game of football. We were very much in it right up to the full-time whistle. We faced a team full of world class players and could well have got something from the game,” Coyle said.

“You know that when you face an elite club such as Manchester City that they have quality right throughout the squad and we had to be at our best. I think we showed that and stood toe-to-toe with them.”
