Marcos Senna extends his NY Cosmos contract

New York Cosmos have announced on their official website that star midfielder Marcos Senna has signed a new deal at the club until June 2015.

The veteran footballer has been handed a new contract by the MLS side despite the fact he will be 38 next summer.

Nevertheless, the club chiefs were desperate to hold on to the former Spain international after he enjoyed a brilliant start to his career in the United States.

Senna made a total of 14 league appearances since joining the club on a free transfer from Villarreal and impressed to score 6 goals in the process.

Prior to moving to the MLS, the Brazilian-born player had spent 11 very successful years at El Madrigal, making 292 La Liga appearances and scoring 25 goals.

Senna also earned 28 Spain caps and was an important member of the team that went on to win the 2008 European Championship.
